20-Minute Parent

Twenty minutes is a long time. Here's how to spend it together.

About

Play, connect, and discover — in the time you actually have.

This site is for working parents with more love than free time. We make quick at-home activities and printable playbooks, so the time you do have goes further.

AI-generated portrait of Casey Hopwood (a pen name): a man in a blue sweater with a red crayon in the pocket, in a glass-walled office. Behind him a toddler in a red cape runs past, a stuffed elephant flies through the air, and a whiteboard reads "Q4 GOALS: SNACKS." Not a photograph of a real person.

AI-made image. Real chaos may vary.

Casey Hopwood. Pen name. AI-generated. The flying elephant is also not real.

Meet Casey (sort of)

Casey Hopwood is our pen name, and yes, that portrait is AI-generated. So is the flying elephant. We use a pen name to protect our family's privacy. The parent behind it is very real, has two young kids on the SF Peninsula, and stands behind everything here.

No invented credentials. Not a teacher, therapist, or pediatrician. Just a tired friend who writes things down.

Why the pictures are a little ridiculous

Our hero images are made with AI, and we make them silly on purpose. Real parenting has more flying stuffed animals than most websites admit. When we show you what an activity actually looks like or what you'll need, that image is plain and accurate.

How we make things

  • We check setup time, mess, ages, and safety before anything goes up.
  • We say when we've tried something at home, and only then.
  • We're honest about time. If setup takes 10 minutes, we say 10.
  • We use AI tools to help draft content and build the site. A person reviews what goes up.
  • We link sources for any health or development claim.

How we make money

The shop sells downloadable playbooks. Some activity pages may use Amazon affiliate links. Printables have no links to buy anything. Details live on the Disclosure page.

What we're not

We're parents, not pediatricians or therapists. Nothing here is medical advice. We don't run local events, classes, or outings. If you need those, they're somewhere else — we're the kitchen-table pile.
